The companyy said in the releasethat fourth-quarter earnings got a boosty from winter weather significantly more sever e than normal in the United Kingdom, combined with higherr demand in North America for consumer, professional and highwayt deicing products. These factors, combineds with unusually severe weather in North America in thefirstt quarter, bumped full-year results. Compass Minerals producez mineralsincluding salt, sulfate of potash specialty fertilizer and magnesium It provides highway deicing salt to customers in Nortgh America and the United Kingdom and specialty fertilizer to growers It also provides records management services to businesses throughout the U.K.
