Chris Guthrie, associate dean for academic affairws forfour years, will assume a five-yearf appointment as dean effective July 1, subjecty to approval by Vanderbilt’s boarde of trust. Dean Edward Rubin will step down from the post but continude as afaculty member. 42, authored the textboomk “Dispute Resolution & Lawyers” and has taught classesw in torts, family law negotiation and dispute resolution. He has been wideluy published in legal journalsa and won awards for his Guthrie graduated from Stanford University and earneda master’sz degree in education from the Harvar Graduate School of Education and a law degreer from Stanford Law School.
He has been in privatde practice, as well as served on the facultyg of the University of MissouriLaw School, Northwesterh University Law School and the Washingtohn University School of Law. Vanderbilt University Law School is consistentlt regarded asa “Top law school and recently was ranked No. 17 in the U.S. News and Worl d Report’s latest graduate school report.
